Dragon Orchard Cropsharers have the opportunity to:
Become familiar with the yearly cycle of fruit production
Spend time in a lovely part of rural England
Sustain a tradition of orcharding that is under threat
Enjoy a fabulous feast of fruit throughout the autumn and winter
Dragon Orchard Cropsharers are invited to visit the orchard for an Open Weekend each season – Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn. The weekend includes a meal both days, orchard walks and talks, visits to other local producers and demonstrations from local craft workers. There is often a special seasonal celebration such as wassailing in winter, blossomtime in the spring and harvest in the autumn. The Cropsharers are kept informed with happenings at the orchard and upcoming events through a quarterly newsletter.
In the autumn when the harvest is gathered in, Cropsharers take home their share of the crop comprising:
Eating
Apples – 2 x 30lb box of the different varieties
grown
Cooking Apples – 2 x 30lb box and some excellent recipes for using
them
Pears – 10lb tray
Single Variety Apple Juice – 1 dozen bottles
Table Cider – 1 dozen bottles, made from Dragon Orchard fruit
Homemade Apple Chutney and Plum Jam
The annual subscription for a Dragon Orchard Cropshare is £300.
