Pets
You are very welcome to bring your well-behaved dogs to the yurts for an additional £25 (per stay). Please be aware that we are a working fruit farm - whilst we don't ask you to keep your dogs continuously tethered, we do request that you keep them safe from trundling tractors. We also have 4 wonderful Kune Kune pigs and prolific wildlife (pheasants, muntjac deer, foxes, etc.) that we wish to remain undisturbed by inquisitive canines.

Parking
You will be designated a private parking location. Please be aware there may be a short walk to your living space. Wheelbarrows/trolleys will be provided to transport the things you need for your stay. Wheelchair access is along the gravel paths.

Eco-Living
We are committed to low-impact living and sustainability. When we built Dragon House over 25 years ago, it won the award for Low Energy House of the Year. These principles underpin how we manage our orchard and every aspect of our lives and business. We have solar panels on the roof, use natural insulation material and have a pond and wetlands sewage treatment system. The yurts have eco compost toilets and highly efficient Clearview wood burning stoves.

We kindly request that you use eco-friendly products and be aware of your energy and water usage.

WiFi
The Yurts do not have WiFi, offering you the opportunity to disconnect from online and reconnect with nature.

What to Bring
We provide all you need for day-to-day living including bed linen, but ask that you bring your own towels. You are staying in an orchard where the grass is often wet, so wellies or boots are useful and warm clothing is necessary for chilly evenings. Slippers or house shoes inside the yurts are encouraged.

Rates
Prices start from £90 per night (seasonal rates apply).
The blissful evenings spent under the starry skies or cwtched up next to the log fire; bathing in the full moonlight shining in through the crown; waking up to the dawn chorus; morning practice on the deck; apples straight from the tree for breakfast.

Just a few of the many memories I shall forever treasure.

CAI
YURT
Home from home. Rooted in the orchard
Cai Yurt is named after the Saluki dog owned by our former Artist in Residence, Jess, who previously lived in this yurt in Dragon Orchard.

Designed by Jess, Cai has a beautiful red and yellow interior with a mural of a sun on the floor and hand-painted furniture. The main sleeping area has a raised bed with a quirky access ladder, and a comfy sofa bed to pull out if you would rather sleep closer to the ground. There is a power supply and a small electric cooker. A few steps into the orchard is a private shower, composting eco-toilet and an outside tap by the deck.
ASH
YURT
Off-grid living in the heart of the orchard
Tucked away on the edge of the cider orchard, Ash Yurt is surrounded by trees and is perfect for those wanting a more secluded, 'off-grid' experience. It is sited on a raised deck at the top of a slope which allows you a wonderful feeling of spaciousness with fantastic views towards the Marcle Ridge and May Hill.

There is a King size double bed and comfy sofa bed. Cooking is on a two-burner camp stove. Outdoor washing up facilities with running water are constructed from an up-cycled apple bin and a few steps away is a private composting eco-toilet and shower unit.

TESTIMONIAL
"We had the pleasure of staying in one of the Yurts at Dragon Orchard in September 2020. It was an absolutely magical experience. Looking up at night to see the giant oak tree through the roof of the yurt, hearing the rustle of the wind through the trees, warming ourselves by the cosy fire, and enjoying open-air showers were just a few of the experiences that created the atmosphere of a family holiday in touch with nature. Eating and drinking the delightful produce from the orchard, amongst the trees that the fruit grew upon, was a priceless experience for our young daughter."
